CB Antenna Recommendations ??

I'm getting ready to install a cb and wanted to know what antenna people have found to work best. So far, I've looked at the k40's and the Firesticks. Are there any other's worth considering? Thanks!

Re: CB Antenna Recommendations ??

Crow I have found the K40 works good for me. And they have a 5 year guarantee, If you break it, just pick up the parts and take it back for a new one. I have broke 2 in the last 3 years. Oh yea I use the 48" one, but they have smaller ones.

Where did you mount it? I have a Garvin Wilderness rack and that looks to be my first choice to mount it.

Crow,

Ask a CB salesman. Best CB antenna is a Wilson 1000. Best part, it's metal. Bolt on or magnetic base.

I run a Wilson 1000, as do most of the truckers around here.

Re: CB Antenna Recommendations ??

Is that not a 102 inch steel whip? 120 inch is getting low in the frequency.

Re: CB Antenna Recommendations ??

Crow,
We run K-40's exclusively on our vehicles and always have. I'll shoot you a picture of how I mounted it on the spare tyre carrier. I've never had to use the warranty, but it's good piece of mind though.
