who makes TALL jack stands?

I'm doing my SPOA And noticed that I won't have enough adjustment left on my current jack stands to put the wheels back on once the axles are installed. Anyone know of a place to get really tall jack stands?

TIA

Re: who makes TALL jack stands?

I dont know where you placed you jackstands, or what kind of jack and jackstand's your using. But I place mine on the frame just before the inside spring hanger.(I use a floor jack with 7ton NAPA stands) Then when Im done I just jack up the diff housing one side at a time and install the wheels. NAPA sells the stands for about $70. Here is a photo (not a good one) that might show you what I do.

Re: who makes TALL jack stands?

I just made a pair out of hitch steel and some cheap plate, with angle iron for leg supports . They adjust from 18" to 32", but weigh almost 50lbs each . I can balance the entire truck on them on my nerf bars , I'd say they're safely rated at about 20 ton . Just not real portable is all....guess that's why no one has stolen them yet....

You should be able to get a pair of 6ton jack stands a Harbor Frieght for about $40-50.

Re: who makes TALL jack stands?

My wife works at Schuck's (also known as Checker or Kragen depending in what part of the states you are in) so I got mine there. They are 4 ton stands that cost about $27 each (not including her 25% discount...I REALLY love that!!) and were plenty tall enough for my 4.5 SPOA install.
