Trail tough power steering.

I just received my trail tough power steering kit. It came with no instructions but I think I can figure it out. Does anyone know what years and makes of pumps / boxes I can use? Is it the same models as Rocky roads kit?

Re: Trail tough power steering.

I believe the TT kit is for Tracker/Kick steering. RR's is for Yota stuff.

Re: Trail tough power steering.

howdy,
RRO says:
Pumps for the kit:Toyota Celica '78-81
(Pumps up to 05/81, 06/81+ pumps will not work)
The steering box can be off of the following vehicles:
Toyota Celica '78-81
Toyota Corona '78-81
Toyota Cressida '78-81

BUT AT ROADLESSGEAR you can buy the yota pump:
<font color=blue>Pump used</font color=blue> <a target="_blank" href=http://www.roadlessgear.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&amp;Store_Code=RGL&amp;Pro duct_Code=SB102&amp;Category_Code=ST>http://www.roadlessgear.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&amp;Store_Code=RGL&amp;Pro duct_Code=SB102&amp;Category_Code=ST</a>

Re: Trail tough power steering.

Will the same ones for the RR kit work for the petroworks kit? I ask this becuase the petroworks kit uses the toyota tensioner. Also I tried to order the stuff from Roadless gear. They are about 2 weeks out. And it's $120 for just the pump and box, I need the tensinoer and the pitman and the resivoir.

Re: Trail tough power steering.

I'm running the TT PS kit and it is for the Tracker/Kick components. It should work with any years components. The direction sheet was vague, but it did have a pattern with it for were to drill the frame holes. Give brent a call, I'm sure he can fax you a copy easy enough.

Re: Trail tough power steering.

You made a good decision staying away from the weak Sidekick stuff.

As for the pump, you can pick them up at any auto parts store for about $60 and a lifetime warranty. We carry pulleys for them if you get a rebuilt one that does not come with one.

Don't know if the P-works kit uses the same year equipment as ours.

Re: Trail tough power steering.

Is the Tracker's power steering just as weak as the Sidekick's?

Re: Trail tough power steering.

Its not weak, mine works fine, I've never had bigger then 31's with the tracker P/S, maybe for bigger tires its not as good, but I can vouch for it working with at least 31's
