Who has the system on their rig????????

I spoke with MAttrack about their setup. We spoke for about half an hour before I was qouted a price. The whole setup runs about 27,000 US Dollars. During talks he stated that there are customers that have purchased them for the Suzuki Samurai..... So is it anyone on this list? I wanna see pics.... lol

Re: Who has the system on their rig????????

looks like soft sand , and deep powdery snow they'd be great, but if you watch the vids, they have some handling issues in mud, and over semi-rigid obstacles, like logs, and 'grapefruit' sized rocks. flotation tires will do nearly as well on loose surfaces, and dont make as many compromises in the process.

off-hand I'd say a Sami might have problems powering them, and you'd definitely need a power steering upgrade 8^D

Re: Who has the system on their rig????????

yes... i was just amazed that some people bought these for their Suzuki Samurai's. lol
I noticed in the one video the hummvee sunk like a rock in the soft sand. I dont know.... the mud and bogs they were in.... i am sure they might make it thru just as easy with rubber tires..... but the system seems pretty inpressive... Guess the SEAL team is testing them now.

Re: Who has the system on their rig????????

oh and I guess ther are selling a ton of them to ski lodges around the world. as well as people that get paid to do tours offroad and on beaches. from the center of the hub to the groud is like 19.5 inches. and the wheel is seen as an 18" tire but from what they told me it rides like your on 38's. 16" foot print. i know some of the local farmers use this setup with their tractors.

Re: Who has the system on their rig????????

I havent seen farmers with mattraks, but have seen them using trucks on 5' extended 'legs' to clear row crops - there's some truly bizarre &^% out there.

for snow, personally, I'd just get a pair of the dually wheel adapters to double the flotation on the back and, and run a big-[censored] pair of skis under the front wheels....rear spool, and air down the tires. hmm -lots of snow mobiel trails locally: I'm gonna have to try this next winter.

Re: Who has the system on their rig????????

saw an episode of TRUCKS where that put them on a Z71. They worked great in a straight line and through the water, but they couldn't turn worth a crap. They even had trouble crawling over a 2" log. But they said that they were good for the snow and stuff like that, but not much else. They looked like they would be a pain to put on too.
