Electrical problem still not resolved

Added after market guages, oil pressure and volt mete, to my 93 GEO Tracker. Can not get lights to dim with dash light control. When I dim the dash lights the guage lights get brighter. Also the volt meter guage seems to take a long time to register the voltage, sort of like the slow way the fuel guage works. Any suggestions or ideas to correct the probles? Have tried more that one volt meter guage without any diffreence in action.

Thanks..
Bill

Re: Electrical problem still not resolved

my first guess is that the dash lights are a + ground insted of a - I would try hooking the aftermarket lights to the controle wire from dash lights and a + source on the other wire I reciently hooked up a highbeam indicator light on my samurai and it had to be a + ground to work try hooking the volt meter directly to the battery both + and _ terminals

These are just my best guess
