Used Tow Bar

Does anyone have a used tow bar they would be willing to sell cheep (like around $100 or so)? With summer comming up, I need a way to pull the sami around for the events and I can't afford a truck/trailer combo. I'm in So. Indiana if anyone has one, please let me know!

Re: Used Tow Bar

I seen a new tow bar at a Wal-mart in my area for only about $100. You might want to check wal-mart out.

Re: Used Tow Bar

here is one that im gonna build.the grey things are long bolts, with a couple of feet of chain on the ends, lay the top of the angle iron on the bumper, and run the chain to the frame, a crossmember ,whatever, snug the chain up by backing off the bolts, secure with jam nuts, and your good to go.stop every 60 miles or so to check it for snuggness.

Re: Used Tow Bar

I've also thought about welding some tabs to the front of my bumper that I can attach the bar on that way, and when I'm on the trail they will double as clevis attachment points.

Re: Used Tow Bar

Look around, I bought mine for $20 at a lawn sale.

I have also made them before, it's easy, just get a trailer tongue and some 2"x2"x1/4" metal. Angle and cut it, then weld it together. For mounting points, take the shackles off the front and make your own with the attachment point there, or just use a 1/4" triangle plate with an extra hold drilled in it, bolt it where the stock shackle plate goes. I know mxnhid has a set of those triangle plates we've used to haul dozen's of Zuk's all around the northeast behind my Trooper.
