How good are X-90\'s?

Just how good do this little buggers perform on and off road? When I had parked my Sidekick beside one, the X-90 looked lower and shorter. Can these be lifted easily? What about performance modifications, I think I'm going to start hunting for a good deal on one, and then get a header and intake for it, because I need enough power for trailering, I want to pull two snowmobiles, so around 12-1400 lbs. What do you guys think about them?

They drivetrains and chassis are exactly the same as the Kick, anything a kick can do an X can do!

Well, not quite - they come with smaller tires, and smaller wheel wells. I don't think they're THAT much similar to the Sidekicks!

Hey ZUK88, where'd you take that picture? That X-90 has Colorado plates! Gnarly tires, too!

I don't know who owns the Purple X-90 but I've seen it a few times. I live in Longmont, Colorado & I've seen it in Longmont & Boulder. Looks cool, seems kind of slow, maybe needs to be regeared still. Very clean little machine.

Re: How good are X-90\'s?

I am sure they are geared higher than the Kicks...the stocker tires are a lot smaller.
The purple X90 is kool,I'll bet they rub at full lock and/or articulation though...pretty tight in there.
I have looked at the X-90 and thought about jacking one...I would probally cut out the wells to the max and fit some kind of flares on there...then with the Calmini 3+3 kit and some 33s it would rock and look kool to boot!
They are still a little expensive for my tastes still.

Re: How good are X-90\'s?

It is owned by a guy on the X-90 bulletin board. It runs a Calmini 3" suspension for a Sidekick (Yes, they are exactly the same under the body work). He trimmed his fenders to get the 30x12.5" MTs under it. X90s are really just sidekicks with different sheet metal so pretty much anything that will fit on a Kick will work on the X. I am planning on adding either the Calmini 2" or the OME lift to mine eventually.

Re: How good are X-90\'s?

Lets see.. they were all 16V motors and I think they all have 4.62 gears no matter if it's a stick or an auto same as kick autos. The tires aren't that much smaller 195/65's IIRC. Few other little things but it's pretty much just a differnet body.
