Diamond plate glove box door

Has anyone used the diamond plate glove box doors I see on E-bay. Are these also avaliable outright or do you have to do the bidding thing.

Re: Diamond plate glove box door

I got one of the doors on ebay. It was simple and very well made, but the problem was that it was for the early dash style and I have an 88.5. The glovebox doors are not
the same.

I sent it back to the guy (he paid) and he made up one for me based on my measurements. It didnt fit quite as well as the other one probably would have and I had to get a piece of copper pipe to cut and use as a spacer for the lock. It also has a big gap along the top.

It fits with my diamond plate everywhere else in the interior, so it stays. I am going to pop in a piece of aluminum angle iron to fill the gap, too.

Nice guy, good stuff. Be aware of the year issue and specify new dash or old.

Re: Diamond plate glove box door

I mailed him a few weeks ago asking the same thing. He said at the time he had one left and I could have it for $39.00. Im sure he had more but also I did not want to pay $39.00 so I just bought a stock door for $15.00. But the DP doors are pretty cool.

$39!!! He's selling those things for $39!!! I think I'd rather have a hole in my dash!

Re: Diamond plate glove box door

I have one and I like it... and I had the same problem b/c I have a late model dash. I used a screen door latch for my latch.

Re: Diamond plate glove box door

I don't believe Ben (the guy on eBay) does private sales, could be wrong or he could have changed his mind by now how knows. but I have other things he has made and they are of good quality.
