LOOKING FOR WELDER INFO

ok guys and ladies, I'm looking for info on where to get an inexpensive welder that will be able to do bumpers, spoas and sheet metal/body work. Suggestions and cost estimations would be great! It's not something I'll use every day, so I won't need industrial strength, just mostly to work on my rig and my truck when they need it.

Re: LOOKING FOR WELDER INFO

A little 120V mig would work fine for those projects.

Re: LOOKING FOR WELDER INFO

GET a weld pack 100 with or without mig conversion 350.00 w/o 500.00 w/ conversion
get a 2000/4000 inverter 300.00
and now you can weld on the trails run lights at night run a heater or fridge
go to walmart and get their lil air compressor with tank for 100.00 and you can have onboard air

Re: LOOKING FOR WELDER INFO

I just picked up a hobart handler 185 for $650 220v w/regulator etc. (Hobart is made/owned by miller) half the parts have miller part numbers, uses standard tweeco gun tips etc...

They make a 120v version, watch the duty cycles on the smaller units.

While the smaller ones may be cheeper by the time you add a mig/regulator setup you at the cost of a bigger unit..

I got mine from www.cyberweld.com no shipping (or tax)

They list lots of welders all different sizes...

My first project was my off-roading welding cart....
