Weight of the 1.3/1.6 engine?!?!

Anyone out there know what one of these things weighs? Either the 1.3L or 1.6L engine? I ask because a lot of people have asked about shipping them and I have no idea what it would cost.
How about the weight of the stock 5-speed tranny?

Thanks everyone,
Steve

Re: Weight of the 1.3/1.6 engine?!?!

1.3 is about 175 lbs? Last time I picked up a stock tranny I'd say it was about 70lbs?

Re: Weight of the 1.3/1.6 engine?!?!

Thanks Neal. I just weighed the head with valve cover and it only weighed in at around 30 lbs. A lot less than I would have thought. As for the block, no clue! If I can, I'll try and weigh it as well.

Thanks,
steve

Re: Weight of the 1.3/1.6 engine?!?!

Not as much as you think. I just had my 1.6 shipped to me (to a business address) via FedX ground. I don't remember the weight, but it only cost $67 to go from NC to Indy. However, I did ship a tranny once using UPS and it cost $50 to go from Indy to Alabama (if'n I recollect 'xtly). I'd say block and head without any extras on it would weigh about 125 lbs. Yeah, that's about right, I was thinking block with head and manifolds etc would come to about 175 or so, prolly more like 125 lb fer block and head alone. I'm sure that tranny came in at about 70 lbs.
