Yota axle swap

Anybody done a toyota axle swap? I'm going to start mine in a couple of months and was wondering what complications I might run into. I've talked with Brent at trail tough and Brain that works there runs toyota axles with yj springs and stock samurai driveshafts and has no problems.

Re: Yota axle swap

If you do a search on this topic I'm sure you will find more info then you want or need!
With that said, I've done the swap and a lot of other guys on here have as well! It is an easy swap! The front on my toyota pickup axles bolted right up to the spring pads, and the rear pads need to be removed and moved inward about 1"
Drive shafts are going to be made as soon as I get the engine in, after that I'll have them custom made.
I'm running Yj springs 3" body, 35" Boggers and yota axles... here are a few pic's.

Re: Yota axle swap

I have some information on my web site:

www.users.qwest.net/~salto follow the samurai links.

Once you have you toyota axles, just start thinking about a dual toyota transfer case.
