maybe I\'m stupid...but...

I had the front of the zook up in the air doing a springover and I noticed something.
When I turned the rotor, the other hub turned but the drive shaft didn't...even with both hubs locked.
Is this normal?
I think not
but then I said...maybe I am stupid

Re: maybe I\'m stupid...but...

You are not stupid but that is how it is suposed to work. It is because you have open differentials. If you lift both wheels off of the ground and turn one wheel, the other side will turn in the opposite direction. If you let one side down, the wheel you are trying to turn will not turn. If you get under there and turn the drive shaft with no pressure on the wheels, both wheels will turn, but in opposite directions. However, if you get someone to hold the wheels and turn the driveshaft, both will turn the same way. Ain't technology amazing. Can you imagine how confusing that was to the first person that ever installed a differential?
