Thinking of getting one

I have "lot the parents turst" with jeeps and still want an awd that has some wheeling ability. I'm thinking of something like a 95 awd impeaza or legacy, hopefully an out back. I have about ten grand to spend, are they worth it, how well are they offroad (mud, forest roads, snad, snow)? I know if i get one it will have to get a yakima, hellas, and a cb antenna to make it stand out from those granny driven ones. I know I want a wagon, is there a differance in models, is there a 6 cylinder offred, what should I look for, can they tow at all, could I get someone out of a ditch?

Re: Thinking of getting one

No offence to the Subaru owners on this board, but you're better off with a newer, used Compact SUV like a Chevy/GMC Blazer or a Ford Bronco II. Late 80's / early 90's models can be had for around 8000-10000 dollars. You may even have some money left over for add-ons.

No offense takin'
Subarus are not your weekend off-road beating vehicle.
As far as traction for any road condition, I'd get one.
You just have to go the dealership and try one yourself.
Me, preferably like the older design.
