Oil Build-up

I have a 2000 Mxz 600, which i have just cleaned the "rave" valves. Each valve had about 1/8" of hard oil sludge on it. I haven't been fouling plugs or anything but, the oil pump turned up to the second notch (lots of oil! the dealer did this). The machine has had "ski-doo" oil in it since new... not synthetic just the regular stuff. I dont want to switch to synthetic(even though i know its better). The machine has the stock jets in it, what should I do? turn the oil pump down?

Thanks for the help!

Re: Oil Build-up

Your dealer likely turned the pump up for break-in, I would leave it that way until you get some miles on it. Check owners manual and I think you will find a recomended service interval on those valves. There was an article in one of the magazines a while back about general service on Ski-doo machines where they had one so bad the valves were froozen in place. What you saw I think was pretty normal you just have to clean them regularly kinda like cleaning the clutch every so often. Oil is cheap compared to a rebuild. If it's already broke-in check with dealer about reducing the oil.
