Re: Fuel Mileage

good luck finding a sled that is that big with great gas
milage; if you want great gas milage you need a skidoo formula sl 500 its slow but will get you where you want to go and a fair pace. my friend has one and he will go forever on a tank. If you do get a 600 or 700 I still recomend skidoo they may not be as fast but they will go forever, it also depend on how much you like to push the happy lever. I have a 98 zr600 efi and it sucks gas and hauls a**!!! I love it but it does need a little bit of juice pretty often
hope this helps

Re: Fuel Mileage

Hey i have a arctic cat powder special its a 96 and it's a 580. it gets around 11 miles to the gallon. The sled may sound small by the 580 but I've beaten people with 700's in hill climbs and in drags see ya

Crack the throttle and hold on

Re: Fuel Mileage

Any 600 or 700 triple Yamaha has the best mpg 15mpg,or get a 99 MXZ 600 or FIII 700 14-15mpg.

This is why I will be getting a Yamaha or SkiDoo 600 or 700 is because they are so much better on gas!!!

97-99 Cat and Polaris are all gas hogs 8-11mpg except for the 99 XC500 it was pretty good on gas.

Punch Da Throttle and ROOST!!

Re: Fuel Mileage

my itty bitty 400 polaris gets 24 mpg on the trail and she will do 95mph. (I weigh 130 lbs) Hubby had me up to 28mpg for awhile . A short while. She ran some nice;for awhile. Running a little lean me thinks. She woofed her cookies. Im back to 24mpg.

Re: Fuel Mileage

I have a 99' Ski-Doo formula 3 700,I get about 15 mpg,and I ride fairly fast, for some reason the triples get better gas milage than the twins, when my milage starts to drop off I know it's time to clean clutches and RAVE valves, this routine mantainance is vital to any sleds milage and performance.

Re: Fuel Mileage

What I have found out is you can't have both great gas mileage and big hp. Think about it what makes hp? The more gas and air you can pump through a motor the more hp it will develop.

Re: Fuel Mileage

Yeah, I have a '99 MXZ 670 H.O. And that thing has crazy power and excellent fuel mileage... I have way more power than my friends 2000 AC 500 EFI and 600 EFI and much much better fuel mileage... I think the fuel economy on the newer MXZ 700's is pretty good...

Anyway good luck.
