94 XLT SP widening and air box question

I want to install radius rods and steering rods from a newer xtra 12. Has any one tried this and does it handle
better? My sled has slp pipes will it help to remove the shelf in the air box? Which cyl do you install an exhaust
probe? My pipes have a welded in hole in the pto cyl. Any help on these subjects would be great.

Re: 94 XLT SP widening and air box question

Well, unfortunately on the 580 XLT's the mag cylinder runs the hottest. I run SLP tripple egt guages on mine. All mounted 7" from the outside of the cylinder. I wouldn't remove the shelf in your airbox, just the foam like the SLP instructions say to. As far as widening goes, I would look into some of the later wider front ends that arn't the extra 12's. Unfortunately, if you don't go with new front shocks the sled will ride really low to the ground.
