Gas coming out of the overflow on Carbs

I finaly fixed my fuel pump on my 73 Polaris colt 295.
But know when I pull the engine over gas comes out of both carbs. It comes out at the bottom where there is a little round opening.
Do I need to clean out the carbs?
Will this fix the problem? I really need the help.
Thanks

Zooman

Yes take your carbs apart and clean them. Is the gas coming out of the little hole right on the bottom? You may have the o-rings under the needle jet setter leaking or missing which will allow the gas to come out of there. E-mail if you need the picture of thae carb resent.

Re: Gas coming out of the overflow on Carbs

Thanks for the help Irv. I am a little nervous about opening the carbs up, it would be my first time.
Would a new oring come with a carb rebuild kit?
Do you think I should get a kit just in case?
I wil be trying this on Sat and hope to start it that day to.
Thanks

Also I am having a hard time printing that carb diagrahm. I will keep trying.

Actually once you get in to the carbs and have a look there isn't too much to them. Pretty straight forward. I would wait to see what they look like inside before buying a kit.
