2000 polaris 600 & 700 anni. sleds/just 8mpg?

I live in wisconsin--altitude only 1400. We have a couple polaris 45th anniversary sleds--wifes a 600--mine a 700. They both get awful mileage. Anyone have any tips or tricks to help out?? At the price of gas I hat to be on empty at 90miles!!

If they have altitude compensators on them there may be something there. If no compensators check the jetting chart and comfirm what is in the carbs is correct. How do the plugs look and the top of the piston? In the west we would love to get 90 miles on a tank of fuel. Snow and trail conditions dramatically affect fuel economy but we see 110 mile ranges if we find a groomed trail and run at 40 to 50 MPH.
Good luck.

I rode with a guy this weekend who has a 99 XC700. His sled burned nearly half again as much gas as my 2001 700, and he said he jetted down! The only big difference between our sleds are the carbs (mine has Mikuni's). You may be looking at a problem you can't fix without a lot of money.

I have a 1999 700XC and a 1999 600XC both have the 39 Khein carbs both have the same jets (185 Mains) My 700 gets 9mpg and my 600 gets 10mpg both engines are stock and that is riding at 1,000 ft altitude and on groomed trails at 50mph. I'm afraid that this is the best to hope for and retain the throttle response and torque.

Check your needles, there was a notice sent out to dealers telling them of new needles. 700 motors have mid range lean and Polaris corrected it with needles that are richer. New needles are available either from Polaris or aftermarket. XC700 should get 100+ to a tank on trail at 0-3000 ft. when set-up correctly. This should be the same for the big block 600.

I ride with a couple of guys who have 99 700 RMKs. One guy pulled his ACCS and he has 2 gallons of gas left when the other guy is dry. He had to lean it down 2-3 steps. I guess you have to sacrifice something for the convienance for ACCS.
