Powder Machine

It has been a few years since I participated in the this "Sport" and I am looking to get back into it.

Here is my Question.

I am looking for a Mountain/Powder Machine to ride off the groomed trails and do some hill climbing. I am not really sure if I should get a trail or sport class machine 600-700cc and add a 1.5"+ paddle track to it or get a "Powder/Mountain" Machine. I am really not that picky on make, but would prefer to stay away from Arctic Cat and Yamaha as I have had bad experiences in the past. But, who knows, they may make the best now... I will be moving to Boise Idaho This spring and from what I hear, there is good riding about 1hr out of town. If any one has any suggestions or can point me to a "review" of the latest Power Sleds/Trail Sleds, I would greatly appreciate it.

Re: Powder Machine

All of the sleds in the 700 mountain class are excellent. Ski Doo Summit is the best pure powder sled, Yamaha Mountain Max is the best on the trails, and the Polaris RMK does it all pretty well. If you are moving to Boise then you will be in the neighborhood of one of the best Polaris dealers in the West, Carl's Cycle. Jack Struthers at Carl's works magic with the RMK's.

All of the sleds above with a 144 track will do fine on the trails in Idaho, and excell in off trail riding. I doubt you'll be happy with any short track in Idaho.
