00 ZL500EFI problem

700 miles on machine, i bought it used. it bogs at low rpm's(2000-5000) almost likes it missing on one cyl. but it runs fine at high rpm's. it also has been using more oil than it should. Oil pump is adjusted according to manual. fuel mileage isn't what should be expected either. can anyone tell how to fix this problem.

Re: 00 ZL500EFI problem

At what rpm are you engaging at?

That 500 gets about 9-10mpg BTW.

Re: 00 ZL500EFI problem

1st. There is no power at 2000, 3000, or even 4000 rpm on that engine. You may have a broken front clutch spring or flat rollers or a belt that is way too long. You should engage that engine at 5000 rpm. Check those things out
