Porting

On a Polaris mtn sled with pipes , clutching, bored carbs, milled head what can you expect to see by trail porting the motor? throttle response? mid range? jetting changes? etc.

Re: Porting

porting should give you a respectable 20 hp and you will need to jet it if you havnt already with your pipes. throttle response should be up slightly and if it is a triple your top end will be increased and if a twin your mid range should be healthy

Re: Porting

Come on! 20 HP from porting on a 700 Twin. Not a chance!
I can tell you that if the porting is done wrong, then you will surely lose power, same with the pipes. The right pipes are critcal and the porting has to match the pipes or you will not be optimum. I am a dealer for , what I think are the best pipes in the industry. If you are interested, contact me off the board.
