comp. test

tryed to do a compression check on my sled and the dial did not move. (it moves with my air comp. set at 100 lbs.) what is the proper way of doing a comp. check on a 2 cylinder 2 stroke motor? is there a special gage for 2 strokes? motor runs pretty decent so i know i have compression but i just wanted to check.. THANKS

Re: comp. test

A gauge made for checking compression has a tire valve which allows pressure to build in the gauge without bleeding off. I suspect the gauge off you compressor won't hold a reading thus it appears that you have no compression. A proper compression gauge may be used for eith 2 or 4 stroke applications.
