could it be starter

99 Grand Touring 500 LC, had trouble last season, cranked hard, not fast, put new battery in, won't even turn over now! Just clicks the selinoid engaging on flywheel but won't turn it over.
Pull starts easily, 1-2 pulls.
Question, could it be the starter? Only 900 miles on sled. How do I check it? What to look for?

Re: could it be starter

OK Guys, here's what I found out. The end of the starter, there is a bracket to support the weight bolted to the engine, under the exhaust manifold. The two bolts that hold the starter together, were loose. Loose on the starter, and, the bracket. Causing the armature to be loose, jamming the starter when engaged!!!
If you have a Doo w/elec. start you may want to check yours!
My sled only has 700 miles on it now, this started acting up at 527 miles, been pull starting it since. Need the electric start for the kids.
Well, safe and happy sledding,Mich., 1-3ft on the ground!!!
