Re: How long does a sled usually last

27 thousand kms on my 86 SRV 540,track gone at 12 thousand kms, clutch rebuilt twice,ENGINE NEVER BEEN REBUILT BUT KNOCKED ALOT AFTER 23 000 was still running at 27 000kms but could of used a rebuild lol

A Yamaha will outlast any other sled on average many with over 15 000kms and still look and run mint it just takes maintenance and care,if you run a sled like you stole it you would wish someone stole it after 2000miles LOL

Just take care of it and it should last long.

Re: How long does a sled usually last

It all depends what you do with it. I've seen sleds never jumped or ridden at full throttle on groomed trails go over 20,000 miles. I've seen sleds used by teenager wannabe snow X'ers last 500 miles. In my neck of the woods, a mountain sled that sees lots of use by a fairly extreme rider will go 4-5000 miles before it needs new rings, and drive system bearings.
