\'98 RMK 700 carb jetting

I'm going to raise the compression on my RMK by shaving the head .010-.015 Will I need to change main jets?
Great snow in Tahoe/Truckee Ca.

Re: \'98 RMK 700 carb jetting

why not pull your head and send it to Carl's Cycle in Boise, ID. give them your elevations and minimum octane. they'll cut it and redo the squish. they have the experience to do it right. cost me about 55 bucks + shipping + gaskets. but if you do your own and don't get it right I am sure you can find a stock head from someone who replaced theirs with aftermarket...

Re: \'98 RMK 700 carb jetting

I've got a stock head off a '98 700RMK if you end up needing it.

As for jetting, if the only thing you do is cut the head, then you probably won't have to change main jets unless you're already on the edge. When I bumped the compression on my '98 it didn't make a difference in the baseline, but it did even out the performance... I found myself rejetting less often.
