Help! MXZ isn\'t running right

2001 Mxz 600. I was running it about a week ago and it died like someone hit the kill switch. Couldn't get it started. finally did with just a little throttle and it run rough and backfired. Figured it was running on one cylinder. Nursed it home and found out the right piston went. Took it apart, put new pistons in and ran fine for about 5 miles to test. two days later started fine and went into the house for a few minutes. came outside and noticed she was idling really low like she wanted to stall. I gave it a little throttle and she backfired and acted like it's missing and the timings off. It doesn't even move. The more throttle you give her the track doesn't move. Seems to idle somewhat ok though. Changed the coil and plug wires. Could this be the DESS or MPEM? Thanks!
