Fan Cooled vs Liquid Cooled
I am looking into purchasing two machines. Right now I am borrowing a 1998 Formula Z 670, and a 1998 Formula Deluxe 583. I ride in the Southern/Northern parts of NH. I was wondering what is the difference between Fan/Liquid cooled. A local dealer told me that if you rode a lot on lakes where there wasn't much snow cover a fan cooled machine is better. He also said that a liquid cooled machine will put out more HP than a Fan cooled.

Years ago from an unreliable source someone mentioned something about on warm days a Fan cooled machine will give you trouble, or your not suppose to ride it if the temp is above x degrees or something like that.

Thanks in advance,

Re: Fan Cooled vs Liquid Cooled
I have ridden fans in temps well up into the 40's F. I have also ridden liquids in temps that high. You need some snow to keep a liquid
cool, but I usually start to melt hifax before min begins to overheat. Are you having problems with the Skidoos? If not buy the same
machines you are borrowing. The only fans that might put out enough H.P. to be interesting are the 550 Polaris machines. The liquid
cooled machines with tunnel coolers do really well with little snow as long as you are running lots of studs.

If you can't buy what you want, BUILD IT!!
