Yam 700SX
I just bought a 97 SX700. I have wanted this sled ever since i saw the reviews on it the year it was released. Having ridden it I do have some concerns...i am not a mechanic by any means, and the newest sled which i have owned before this is my 1990 Indy 500. My SX is bogging down when ever i hit the pin hard and back-firing if i let off the throttle. This problem seems to be more noticeable if I have been riding hard then go into a twisty section and slow down a bit. I have checked the plugs and all looks well there, and the motor has just been rebuilt by a Yamaha mechanic who is also a friend, so i do not think that there are any major mechanical problems. Any ideas??? The sled runs great if i ease into the throttle, and top end performance is all i hoped for and more.
Thanks in advance. Spanky. |
Re: Yam 700SX
Sounds like a rich condition. When is it boggy? Warm days? If so check the jetting and get the mechanic freind to show you a few basic things you can do like cleaning the carbs. Hope this can help.
