00 700 RMK hifax wear?

I have a fellow rider that has 260 miles on his 2000 700 RMK, and his hifax is nearly worn out. None of the rest of us that ride together (with different year 700's) are having this problem.
He took it to the dealer, and the dealer told him that it was a normal wear item, and not covered under warrenty.
The dealer continued to tell him that the problem could be corrected by replacing the hifax, and installing additional track clips. The cost would be around $400, and the customer would have to pay for this.
I noticed that others are also having this problem. (In previous thread.)
Does anyone have any suggestions as to who to contact with Polaris that could be of any help?
Thanks,
X700

Re: 00 700 RMK hifax wear?

On the snowest site there are a lot of people complaining of the problem. Some are having good results by just loosening the track. Others are adding wheels to the high wear areas. I think that some dealers are paying for new parts.
