Advice on V-Max 600

I looked and rode a 1999 V-max a friend of mine owns, it has 1,100 miles on it, he's selling it and wants $5,000.00 for it. He has done some modifications to it, thinner head gasket, clutch work ,rejetted it and 144 studs. There is no lack of power in this sled, i need opinions and advice from people who have or do own one, my last V-max was a 87, the old style and it blew up too many times and left a bad V-max taste in my mouth. So basically i need convincing, help me out please!
Thanks, Mike

Re: Advice on V-Max 600

Mike,
I dont have a whole lot of hours on my SX, but, i have done a lot of reading and talked to a lot of people before i bought mine. The only bad thing that i have heard about 97-99 vmax sleds is that the crank may have problems....apparently they are prone to spin bearings. The time I have spent on mine has been WICKED!! Very nice sleds. Hard to believe that going so fast can be so comfortable.

Spanky.

the only Yammy's with crank problems are the big SRX's other than that Yammys can really rock when, tuned right.
