Re: Polaris xc500-sp 2000

to clean the valves is simple remove the 2 bolts at the bottom of the ehaust valve then tap the valae to the side gently to break the gasket loose then remove the valve by pulling up on itwhen it is out use a cleaner such as carb cleaner ina spray can to help remove the oil and carbon use a soft piece of scotchbrite pad and srub away till they are clean ps polaris has a new oil out designed especially for the ves engines it is said to be burn 8x cleaner than the current synthetic they recommend also most of the sp 's burn way too much oil check your oil pump sync at the pump the line on the levershould line up with the line onthe pump body just as the throttle slides starts to move this is right from polaris i am a polaris tech hope this helps
