\'91 phazer trouble

I ROLLED MY 91 PHAZER LAST WEEKEND. I HAVE IT ALL TOGETHER AND MOBILE AGAIN, HOWEVER THE ENGINE WILL NOT RUN CORRECTLY. ITS HAS SPARK, COMPRESSION IN BOTH CYLINDERS. THE LOW END SEEMS FINE. THE TOP END IS LACKING BY ABOUT A THIRD OF THE POWER. THE CLUTCH IS OPERATING FINE, I WAS THINKING MAYBE IT WAS A FUEL DELIVERY PROBLEM OR SOMETHING. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECTIATED. EMAIL [email protected] OR REPLY TO POET EITHER WAY. THANK YOU

Could be a few things... check your clutch/secondary alignment, distance. Did you put a new belt on it? Did you ride it back after you rolled it?More info!

Re: \'91 phazer trouble

Hello,

Does it go up to about 4000-5000 rpm and just bog?? and then eventually clear up and run fine? If so you might have a grounding problem on the engine. Some Yamaha sleds ground their block to the frame through the engine mounts, and after awhile the ground gets crappy.

Try running a seperate ground wire from the chassis directly to the coil, to the CDI unit. This should most likely fix your problem.
