Ultra cylinder base gasket

A friend of mine owns a 1996 670 Polaris Ultra. Heres the problem; at the end of last season he had a ring break and tear up one of his cylinders. Since Wiseco provided the rings and pistons they paid for the new parts and machine work on the cylinder. He has put on a few hundred mile since then but has recently experienced a blown base gasket related to that particular cylinder. He has replaced the gasket twice and it has blown out at 150 miles and 40 miles. The matting surface look good, no knicks or blemishes. torque 25 ft-lbs. Does anyone have any input as to why this is happining.

Re: Ultra cylinder base gasket

Well we finaly found the problem on the mystery base gaskets blowing out. It appears the return cooling line would get pinched on a hard left turn which would allow pressure to build in the cooling jackets and ultimately blow a base gasket on one of the cylinders. Weird problem but an easy fix.

Re: Ultra cylinder base gasket

Cool I bet Dans a Happy Camper now.. Zemo told me about his coolant line. I was lucky i guess when i rolled my chaincase, I put alot of thought into how i was gonna make the lines work without pinchin shut( lots of 90 degree plastic elbows) Were you with them guys Sat.?..Cant beleive ya nutz went to Wise River never even unloaded, then drove all the way to Red Lion, soundz like it was worth the trip though..
