503 Rotax

Can anyone tell me what a new Rotax 503 costs about? I need one for an 89 Escapade, I had the bad luck
of seizing up today while out on the trail, and I am wondering if the cost of a new engine is worth it
versus a used one???????????? Please please any help or your experiences would be much
appreciated here. No go here in Ontario:-( ......PS thanks in advance for any replys.
Regards, Paul

Re: 503 Rotax

The cost of a new 503 would be more than the value of the sled. What kind of seize was it.?? If it was a top end piston seize than
$500 should get you back on the trail. Even if you blew a rod through the crankcase you can often rebuild the old engine for less than
$1000 it you can find used parts like a cylinder or a crankcase.

If you can't buy what you want, BUILD IT!!

Re: 503 Rotax

There are a couple of sites you can check out to get prices. Try Al's Wharehouse for used parts at http://www.alssnowmo.com/request.htm Or there is a site that has microfiche on Ski Doo and Yamaha snowmobiles. This site gives you a breakdown of your sled and gives you prices on every part. This site sells only genuine Ski Doo parts. Check it out at http://216.37.204.3/SKIDOO/skidoo_WE...ASP?MODEL_LIST

Good Luck
