Switching oil

I'm switching oil from AC to Amsoil synthetic. I have drained the resevoir down to almost nothing but do I have to go any further? I have heard rumors about some oil not mixing. Also the new stuff appears not so thick will it still mix ok. I'm putting it in my 98' ps efi. thanks, craig

Re: Switching oil

I'm also going to switch oil from polaris brand to phillips 66 injex. I was told to do what you've already done. Get the old oil down as low as you can and simply add the new brand.

Re: Switching oil

You shouldn't have a problem. I switch back and forth and mix Amsoil, Polaris and Torco synthetics all the time. In 5000 miles on
my sled I have never had a problem.

If you can't buy what you want, BUILD IT!!

Re: Switching oil

I switched from ski doo oil to amsoil (dealer recomended) on a 00 summit. Dealer said let oil run donwn and then just add the amsoil....did it at 300 miles and have 750 mile now, with no problems.
