Xtra-10 (or Xtra-12) upgrade

This weekend I got a chance to ride a Polaris with a (fresh) xtra-10 suspension. Boy, what ride! My '95 with the older style suspension (can't remember what it's called) does not compare. Does anybody know if an upgrade is possible and where I could find instructions?

Has anybody done a similar upgrade?

Yes it's definitely possible to upgrade to the Xtra-10. Here's a link for a how-to: http://www.off-road.com/snowmobile/p...0/indyx10.html

Re: Xtra-10 (or Xtra-12) upgrade

Is it possible to go from a standard suspension (in say a 93) to an Xtra 12? Can you then beef up the fromt end so it doesn't sit like a funny car?

Re: Xtra-10 (or Xtra-12) upgrade

You can take the suspension from a newer machine and put it on your 95' but you have to use the track from the newer machine also. It may cost you a few bucks but it is well worth it. You can pick up some newer suspensions from salvage yards like Central Snowmobile Salvage in Green Bay, WI. GOOD LUCK
