best aftermarket skis?

I was just curious what the best after market skis are. I've looked at buying the SLP Tri-Keel II, but I'm not sure.

Re: best aftermarket skis?

I went with the tri keel II's last year and really liked them for powder riding, and they behave great on hardpack too. Several buddies have the Simmons and like them. One guy smacked a tree and a Simmons broke in two, but he sent it in and they replaced it no charge. You won't go wrong with either one.

Re: best aftermarket skis?

I have Simmons and would not say they are the best, but they are good. They work great for steering through rough stuff and turn well in powder. They go where you point them. They are a little too aggressive in the harder spring snow. I believe the SLP ski with banana shaped keel woould have the advantage in this snow. I think the stock Cat narrow ZR ski is as good as any out there.....

What kind of sled? SLP skis tend to work better on heavy sleds, and the Simmons are nice on lighter sleds. I have ridden the heavier sleds with simmons and it wasn't that fun. The slp work more like power steering. also, the simmons aren't that great int he spring.

Re: best aftermarket skis?

I would definitly go with C&A pro 6" Race skis. Got these on my mxz670ho and the handling is the best I've ever had. Bit pricy though
