Good points should be cheap fun.. Bad points its still a pogo stick yammie and a narrow one at that (dont worry though they make new one that arn't) clutches are good if maintained.. gas milage is OK 100 miles to a tank (8 gal tank)High speed riding is COLD do to the fairing so dress warm if you go out below zero...
Had a couple exciters and the always brought me home but ya gotta watch them clutches ...

I wouldn't touch it with a 10'ft pole .I bought one against advice and suffered. They have a carb problem that yamaha couldn't even figure out. They stall out for no reason even when wide open. I went backwards down a few big hills after stalling which was enough for me. Buy a phazer if this is the brand of sled you want, they are trouble free and will take you anywhere that exciter will.

I went riding with a buddy one time who was riding an Exciter also -- to say the least, he spend more time pulling on the rope than
he did riding! He also had presumably the same carb problems as the other guy was talking about. I also agree -- buy a phazer
over an Exciter any day -- unless you're getting a very very good deal.
