piston-head clearence

does any one know what squish is on 98-99 xc 600-700.or how low you can go on rmks.

I'm not sure exactly what the squish is on the XCs, but I know you can mill an RMK head .016". I would consider this the
max amount you can safely mill the head before you experience pre-detonation problems. I milled the head on my wife's
700 RMK .016" and it showed some slight pitting around the edges of the piston after 1000 miles which is an indication
of pre-detonation problems. One gallon of 108 octane or better race fuel to every tank will solve this problem. The new
compression ratio will be about 12.5:1 and is as high as you can go with the stock head.

On 700's .057 is what you want to be on a stock head. Don't be suprised if the 99 xc7 is .067 just cut it to .057.
