rack gas tanks???
I am thinking of welding a aluminum gas tank to fit in the back rack of my 2000 RMK 700, and I was wondering if any of you had ever seen such a creature made so I could get som ideas. I was thinking of plumbing it into my main fuel line by going under the seat then mating it in with a three way valve. Any tips, hints, or suggestions would be appreciated, or places you may have seen such a thing. It has been done in native villiages here in Alaska where people ride in open areas for miles and miles.

Re: rack gas tanks???
Scooter,
I would be courious as to how you mounted the three-way valve. If you were running somewhat low on fuel, and got stuck pointing up hill, the main tank might drain into the rear tank, therefore causing the engine to quit running. It could be tough to restart when ready to head back downhill! Just a thought. X700 |
