jet specs

Hi, I just bought a 79 tx 440, was wandering if any body could tell me what would be a good carb setting at about 500ft, -5* (celcius) then up to about 2500ft. Needle setting, main jet, pilot jet, air screw..I noticed looking back at some history of the tx that it had 38mm carbs arround 74, I have a set of 38's, is there any reason they wouldn't work on the 79? thanx for any help
