ASCC Announces New 2010 Short Course Series

Phoenix, Az.- Arizona Short Course Championship (ASCC) is pleased to announce a new short course off-road racing series starting February 2010. ASCC offers an affordable short course off-road racing series to local off-road racers while providing local racing fans with an action packed, fun filled weekend that is affordable for the entire family. The entire 2010 racing series will be held at the Speedworld Off-Road Park located in Surprise, AZ.

OVERVIEW
The ASCC is an affordable, action packed short course off-road racing series: "Where Motocross meets Saturday night dirt trackin"! A three-race Spring Series and a three-race Fall Series champion will be crowned during our 2010 season.

LOCATION
The 2010 Inaugural series will be held at Speedworld Off Road Park located in Surprise, AZ. This location is quickly becoming one of the premier purpose-built short course off-road racing facilities in the country.

SCHEDULE
Spring Series Dates: Feb 26& 27, Mar 19 & 20, Apr 30 & May1
Fall Series Dates: Oct 8 & 9, Nov 5 & 6, Dec 3 & 4

The current ASCC schedule does not conflict with any of the "LOORRS/TORC" scheduled racing events.

ASCC Series

Entry fee will be $200.00 for all classes except Trophy Kart will be $100.00.
Payback will be 50% of entry fee to 50% of the field.

Rules still being discussed but here is what we have so far.

STOCK TRUCK rules are up on our site.

Unlimited Trucks is Unlimited Trucks.

Unlimited Buggy will be Short course Unlimited, desert class 1,10 and 12.

Limited Buggy will be Short course Limited, desert 1600,9 and 5-1600.

UTV/SxS will be split class but run together untill car count gets up.
Production Class: 800cc and under/ Unlimited UTV:800cc-1000cc.

1450/Prerunner basic 1450 rules 4cyl and 6cyl only V8's will run Unlimited truck.

Trophy Karts seems to be a mess so we would like to hear from the ARIZONA TK parents on how to make it a fun and AFFORDABLE class for your kids and mine.

Arizona Stock Truck Rules

STOCK TRUCK RULES
Revision 01/03/10
SPIRIT AND INTENT: Guidelines offered in this publication are subject to the term "spirit and intent" and apply to the technical aspects of stock truck racing as well as to the actions of competitors, drivers and crewmembers. It is expected that all participants will adhere to the spirit and intent of these rules at our events. These rules are guidelines for fair and competitive competition. If you are contemplating a technical undertaking that is not directly addressed in these rules, please contact a board member. The purpose of this class is to establish a low cost, entry-level form of off-road racing. The main object is to have a truck class that is fun and inexpensive. 2.) GENERAL SPECS 2wd or 4wd pick up truck or full size SUV ½ or ¾ ton chassis only. 3.) SAFETY *Note to all Arizona stock truck drivers; all drivers are subject to follow the ASCC series rules and safety standards.
a)
All trucks MUST have a minimum of a roll bar and one driver’s side door bar minimum tubing size of 1 ¾ by .120 wall thickness DOM or chrome molly.
b)
Fuel cell must be used. Must be mounted in the center of truck bed strapped with 1 inch wide X 1/8 inch thick flat stock. Must have 2 straps going up and down and one side to side.
c)
All stainless, plastic, glass, and die cast trim parts, lights, and moldings removed from out side of the truck.
d)
No exposed glass. All glass MUST be removed (windshields, door glass, rear window, head lights, and tail lights.)
e)
Driver’s door must be chained welded or bolted shut.
f)
5-point harness seat belts required.
g)
Passengers will be allowed. Passenger safety must be same standard as drive side.
h)
Drive shaft must be painted white.
4.) ENGINE
a)
GM, Mopar or Ford with 360ci or smaller.
b)
Engine and chassis must be from the same manufactures.
c)
Carbureted engines only.
d)
No fuel injection, No turbo chargers and No NOS allowed.
e)
Aftermarket intake and carburetor will be allowed. E
f)
engines must run on pump fuel only NO race fuel or aviation fuel.
g)
OEM engine casing and cylinder heads must be used.
5.) SUSPENSION
a)
Original concept of suspension and springs.
b)
9 inch rear ends will be allowed.
c)
Gear ratio is open.
d)
Spools, limited slip, lockers or welded spider gears are allowed.
e)
Wheel travel is limited to 12 inches.
SUSPENSION CONTINUES:
f)
Maximum track width is 70 inches from outside hub or drum.
g)
Suspension mounts and pivot points may be reinforced and gusseted.
h)
Aftermarket spring can be used and have to mount in stock locations.
i)
Three 2 inch diameter shocks with remote reservoir canister or one 2.5 inch diameter shocks with remote reservoir per wheel can be used.
j)
No coil over or bypass shocks allowed.
k)
Stock factory spindle must be used.
l)
Stock factory lower A-arm or I beam must be used.
m)
No uni-ball replacements.
n)
No secondary suspension.
Complete suspension/lift kits are allowed must bolt on to stock locations no major fabrication work allowed Aftermarket suspension kits must be available to the public i.e. Camburg, Fabtech, Skyjacker, Procomp, Superlift, Full traction, Rancho, Trailmaster, Tuff country, RCD, Black diamond, ect.
6.) CHASSIS
a)
Must remain stock.
b)
May be Gusseted and reinforced.
c)
Drilling in frame rail is allowed for mounting of suspension kit.
7) BODY
a)
Original shape, size and appearance of body.
b)
Up to 2" of fender well opening may be removed and fenders may be flared out an additional 2" to allow for tire clearance.
c)
Removal of inner fenders is allowed.
d)
Removal of CORE support is allowed.
e)
Stock body mounts may be replaced with any material.
f)
Windshield screen or radiator mud screens are allowed.
g)
Must have driver door window net.
h)
Removal of dash is allowed.
i)
Aftermarket or home built bumpers limited to the width of the body will be allowed.
8.) WEIGHT
a)
Trucks must weight at least 3,500 lbs.
9.) TIRE SIZE
a)
33 x 12.50, maximum size D.O.T approved.
10.) NUMBERING
a)
0 – 99
b)
#1 reserved for champion
