Aftermarket (Rock Crawling)

I have had a HPI (electric) for a couple of years now, and I am wanting to get into a Nitro Rock Crawler. I have seen pics and videos of many solid axle RC's but all of the new release RC's are independant like my HPI.

Where is a good source for aftermarket parts to build a rock crawler? I have haerd that you can do most of the upgrades that can be done to a vehicle(lockers, gears, suspension, etc..), is that true?

Am I going to need to buy an independant suspension and then build a solid axle set up.

Re: Aftermarket (Rock Crawling)

Nitro rock crawler, huh. I hate to say it but your best bet is going to be build your own. If i'm thinking clearly, all nitro trucks are independent suspension. I have seen some independent to solid axle conversions though.

check out Radio Control Monster Truck for more info than you need. you must have an ezboard global registration, but trust me, it is worth it!

here is a pic of the Pro Mod electric mud racer i'm working on.
