Re: s-10?

How is your Commanche? Is it easy to get a performance front suspension for it? How is the 4.0L engine? I am looking into buying a prerunner and I am torn between a 89 Commanche and a 88 Ranger.

Re: s-10?

I dont know much about the 6cylinder s-10's but my dad has a 4cylinder standard cab and its not fast but a good truck. Also an old friend of mine had a 92' s-10 standard cab that hauled butt, stock! They do look good lifted with a front bumper and some flared fenders. Good luck!!

Definately ge the V6, you'll like the extra power, and the 4 cyl. are only problems. Seems a few around my area, look pretty nice, but not sure about performance. Good luck

Re: s-10?

Hi Aaron,

I don't know anything about the S-10, except that I hear the newer ones share a few parts with the Tacoma, due to the fact that the Taco is built at the joint Toyota/GM NUMMI plant in Fremont, California. Anyway, you might want to check the prerunner mailing list hosted by off-road.com . Go to the race pages and sign up. There are alot of experienced desert race shop owners as well as a few S-10 prerunner owners on that mailing list who should be able to give you some good info.

Hope this helps. Take care,
