Since no one on the board ever replied to my question you guys might be able to help. What is the latest year the toyota 2wd trucks had coils in the front? Not the tacoma's but the 89-95 or so years? I know absolutely nothing about toyotas so please help.
Toyota 2WD (or 4WD for that matter) trucks - 89-95.5 - have never had coils until the Tacoma 96-01. they do have A-arms and torsion bars that make up the IFS, independent front suspension. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Are there any draw backs for 85.5-95 six cylinder? I heard they blow head gaskets fairly easily. Also who makes a good pre-runner lift for them. Im thinking camburg. They have a lift that has dual shocks and 9" of travel for close to a grand. What do you guys think.
My old 92 3.0 V6 4Runner blew a head gasket(s), but was fixed for free by Toyota even though it already had 98,000. When I traded it in, I suspected it blew a head gasket(s) again about 40,000 miles later.
Anyway, I hear that Baja Concepts ( www.bajaconcepts.com ) and Advanced Toyota Suspension ( www.atsracing.com ) both do good work in converting trucks into true prerunners with longer wheel travel suspensions.
