Fabtech Lifts

Anyone know how the Fabtech 2WD lifts will stand up to an Ext Cab S10 with a Small Block Chevy(350 or 383)?

Why Fabtech Sucks...

Why does Fabtech suck? Well apart from charging double the price for a kit they also have low grade lifts for S-10's. I myself have a 94 s-10 2wd with a Camburg Long Travel Kit. The kit gives me 14 inches of travel on front end and 7 inches of travel in the rear.

The bottom line is this: The fabtech kits lack the strength to support such a large and expansive motor. Camburg Engineering could possibly fab a lift for you and Todd or Jerry are the absolute professionals when it comes to liftkits. If they don't have what you need they can make it for you. I know for a fact they are the ebst kits on the market because that is what I run. I use my truck harder than anyone I have ever met. I jump my truck regularly, use it for search and rescue and even beat s coupl of 4x4's in mud and other fun terrains. I also do all of this with a 4cyl motor that cranks out a decent amount of horsepower. the secret to off roading is in the springs and the shocks. If you have those you are setup for ever.

If you have any other questions do not hesitate to ask me, send that stuff to my email addy...

Have fun, good luck, and happy PreRunning.

If you don't see what you are looking for with Camburg, try Kreg Donahoe.

Re: Fabtech Lifts

Just got back some email from Fabtech. They said it won't work. The engine is too heavy and I wouldn't get the advertised amount of lift.

Re: Why Fabtech Sucks...

I had a look see at Camburgs stuff for the S10. A 6.5" lift with 12" travel! I see why Camburg is better then Fabtech.

Re: Why Fabtech Sucks...

Whatever kit you go with do get a stiffer rate on those front springs because of the heavier motor.. Or else you will loose all your height in a week.. See if you can get that kit without springs but get the dimentions of it and spring rate as is.. Contact http://www.eibach.com/default.asp or http://www.hypercoils.com/ to see if they can make some to your specs..
