Prerunner fenders

Got a 89 chevy 1500.Got some glassworks unlimited fenders.I i wanna keep my inner fender or rig up some new ones so i dont get mud and sand all on my motor.What can i do?

Well, if it's anything like my '98 s-10...

You need to pull the fenders off and drill out the spot welds that run from every side of the fender.

Then you need to peel the outer skin from the inner skin. Be careful!

Put the inner skins back on the truck and wrestle with the fiberglass until you get everything straight! Make sure that the hood will come back into place before you tighten all the screws for the 'glass.

The metal fenderwells will probably need to be cut in order to get the fiberglass on, or at the very least there will be a gap where mud and water can get through. I had a very talented guy make some inner fenderwells for me using new aluminum and existing fenderwells for about $300. You can go that route or you can get some sheet plastic or rubber to cover yours.
