Sounds good but what is scary is they don't mention the price. Usually if you have to ask you can't afford it.

most 110v welders have a problem with 1/4" mild steel.

For 1.99 woth of 1/8" rod, a set of jumper cables and a mask is all you need to get you off the trails. That is if you have two other trucks with you.

 

How exactly do you perform the dual battery welder?I have heard of this but noone has explained it to me.Might be something good to know.Thanks in advance

 

well you can make a welder out of blabla, there was a write up on it somewhere, but i forgot. I think they did it for less than 200 bucks...

i have also seen 3 batterys hooked together to make 36 volts used to weld + one to - of next and so on with the leads (jumpercables) hooked to the the set to weld I have tried to do it with 2 batterys 24 volts didnt work well

I used to mold a plastic(ABS) case for a hand held welder called a "Mag spot" about 9 years ago. It looks very similar to the one above. I never did see the finished product, but heard it was kind of a joke for any kind of real welding thicker then sheet metal.

 

Century has a completely portably self powered 135A mig welder for around $400, and I have seen it repair driveshafts in ARCA competition. I looks like a jumper box with welding leads instead of aligator clips.
