fl350r shifting trouble

Hey gang,

I just pulled my 350r out of 2 years of storage. Got her running again! (woohoo!)

Anyway, I remember now a problem I had when I put it away.

Even though I think the engine is idling about where it should, when I try to shift from neutral to forward or reverse, the transmission just grinds (ie. it's spinning so fast it won't go into gear like if you tried to shift a car into gear without engaging the clutch.) The drive belt I notice is spinning (it's a new belt), and I'm not sure if it should be at idle. Not sure if that is the culprit or not.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks a bunch!

Re: fl350r shifting trouble

I would say it's either idling to fast or your clutch is stuck. Have you taken it apart and serviced it? Most people don't ever touch them. I bought mine when it was ten years old and it had never been apart. When was the last time you saw a good running 350 only do about 45-50 mph max.
