Quad decision time?

Ok i'm looking to purchase a used quad. But I have a problem b/c I can not decide what i want. I am 6'4" and 220 pounds. I want something that is fast(and that I can make faster with more money), something that i can trail ride with, and something that can still handle a motorcross track and freestyle ramps. I mainly ride trails, but i really enjoy the hauling butt and going big on freestyle ramps. i am also more of a 4 stroke fan, but are they really as fast as 2 strokes?I think I have narrowed it down to either a yamaha warrior, or an old honda trx 250r, maybe a banshee. (i really want the new yamaha 450, but can't afford it right now) Anyone out there with opinons, please help. PLEASE HELP

Re: Quad decision time?

The Warrior dosen't fit any of your descriptions.

The 250R is the best choise.

The new 4 strokes, Raptor,YFZ450, TRX450R, are all equilly fast, but $$$!

Also you could look into the TRX400EX, they take well to mods, there are tons of hop ups, 4-stroke.

Re: Quad decision time?

I'll answer the same here as on the other question you asked in the general forum. The 250R is a great quad, but you might need a taller seat, and raise the bars up since you're so tall, I am 6' and feel just right on mine. A used Raptor does well once you do some suspension mods, and the torquey engine pulls bigger riders very well. You might want to stay away from 2001 models unless the transmission has been updated to 2002 specs, there have been quite a few '01's that had transmission failures, the '02's were fine. A 400ex has a little more room than the 250R's did, and can run great with all the mods that are available. Good luck.
